CYCLE

FOR

HOPE

2023

Thank You !

The Singapore Cycling Federation’s fund-raising campaign, Cycle For Hope, spanning the period from 17 June to 20 August 2023, was a resounding success.

TOTAL WE RAISED

$229,167.00

Another year and again, Singapore Cycling Federation’s (SCF) Fund-Raising Campaign was a resounding success. Our deepest appreciation and gratitude goes out to the 664 Individual and Team Donors who came forward to support the Singapore Cancer Society and the SCF in 2023. Together with 16 Corporate Donors, a total of  $229,167.00 was raised.

“This is our second consecutive fund-raising collaboration with the Singapore Cancer Society and I am very grateful to the many individual donors and Corporate Donors who have come forward to support this worthy cause”

Dr Hing Siong Chen, President, SCF.

“ On behalf of Singapore Cancer Society, SCF and all the beneficiaries, patients and caregivers, and young people who will benefit from the Children’s Academy a big thank you to all our sponsors, supporters, and donors. Many more corporate donors came on board this year, and I hope you continue to support this good cause as long as SCF’s Cycle for Hope continues.
I understand that many donors are from the healthcare community—you’re not only caring for patients, but you’re also contributing in very tangible ways to this good cause, as well as the cycling community. Every little contribution helps, so thank you for that”

Mr Baey Yam Keng
SCF Fund Raising Patron and Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment and Ministry of Transport.

Cycle for hope 2024

After successful back-to-back campaigns in 2022 and 2023, SCF will continue on its fund-raising partnership with the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) in 2024. Your donation is intended for cancer patients and their families in their fight against cancer. We also aim to raise awareness about cancer, especially breast and lung cancer being the highest in Singapore women and men.

We would also like to promote and develop the sport of cycling and develop high performance pathways for athlete development. Funds raised would also go towards the development of SCF’s BMX and Pump Tracks and related high performance development programmes.

On 16 June 2024, a Group Ride starting from the Road Safety Park located at 910, East Coast Parkway (449889), would signal the start of “Cycle For Hope 2024”. The ride would be led by SCF’s Fund-Raising Patron, Mr Baey Yam Keng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment and Ministry of Transport. Another prominent supporter of this year’s Campaign is Mr James Wong - 10 x SEA Games Gold medalist and local sporting legend and, himself, a cancer survivor.

“I am delighted to accept your invitation as SCF Fund raising ambassador to contribute to SCF's fundraising activities in support of both SCF and the Singapore Cancer Society. It aligns perfectly with my ongoing efforts to raise awareness for cancer detection. I firmly believe that the more we contribute to helping others, the higher the chances of survival.”

Mr James Wong
10 x SEA Games Gold medalist and local sporting legend and, himself, a cancer survivor.

The main Cycling Challenge Event (100km, 300km or 500km) would be held over a two-month period, between 16 June and 11 August 2024 to create cancer awareness and to raise funds for the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) and, at the same time, promote the benefits of an active lifestyle among Singaporeans. Concurrently, and, together with the BPR Cycling Club (an SCF affiliate club) and Singapore Cancer Society, a series of bespoke thematic island-wide cycling rides would be organized. BPR Cycling Club is led by Mr Adrian Yeo who together with his other club members raised in-excess of $50,000 in 2022 and 2023. Cycle For Hope would conclude with a cheque and prize presentation ceremony to be held on 11 August 2024
